TURTLE WATCHING at MHP:
| The next time you’re at the MHP pond, stop for a minute and look in the water. Are there mysterious little heads poking above the surface? It’s likely there are – these are pond turtles floating at the surface. Other places to find them are on the branches of the dead tree tipped into the pond. Turtles will typically pile on to branches and logs and bask in the afternoon sun. Stop and enjoy them and you’re participating in the great summer pastime of turtle-watching. Soon you’ll be hooked and find that it’s even more relaxing than fishing! |
